1. Under normal circumstances, the College will confer Honorary Fellowships upon four distinguished individuals on an annual basis.

2. Neither a staff member during his/her term of employment in the College nor a current member of civil service/government administration shall be nominated for the Honorary Fellowships.   Having said that, this shall not preclude the possibility that the said persons be recognized for distinguished achievements outside their profession/duty service.  In such a case, the introductory statement is to set forth a solid ground on which the nomination is made.

3. The presence of the UIC Council approved nominee is required at the scheduled ceremony.  Honorary Fellowships shall not normally be conferred in absentia.

4. Nominees for Honorary Fellowships shall be individuals who espouse the College values and are committed to build a close rapport with UIC via their participation in College events and interaction with students.  The nominees shall develop a long-term association with the College; and, shall inspire, champion and guide the students.

5. Before the UIC Council reaches a resolution on the conferment of Honorary Fellowships, all information/submissions pertaining to the nominees shall be STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL in order to avoid major embarrassment.

6.  UIC Honorary Fellowship Committee reserves the right of final interpretation on the

conferment of UIC honorary fellowship.
