CGTN spoke to Professor Zhang Yuejiao, the first Chinese national to serve as a legal adviser to the World Bank, the first Chinese director of the European Bureau of the Asian Development Bank, the first Chinese director of the West African Development Bank, and the first Chinese judge of the Appellate Body of the WTO.

In November 2019, Professor Zhang Yuejiao published her autobiography. In it, she records her life since childhood. The major focus is her work with international institutions.
